Advancing STEAM-powered students
Developing confident, creative, capable, collaborative, compassionate citizens and well-rounded next-generation leaders -- that is the destination of Dearborn Heights Montessori's STEAM Engine. Comprised of school staff, area experts, and professionals from local businesses and community organizations, this newly forming team of is coming together to incubate innovators, (activate) artists and enable eco-engaged kids.
STEAM Engine partners contribute their time, skills, expertise and/or other support to define and develop STEAM-specific/centric experiences as well as create and equip the spaces to enable them. They are thought partners, resource providers and facilitators, and creators of student opportunities. The Arts, making and green programs or extracurriculars made possible through the STEAM Engine invite and enable students to discover their gifts, their imaginations, and their world.
Currently, the STEAM Engine is made up of three teams that work separately and together:
Focused on creating and expanding opportunities for Making and tech such as robotics, coding
Focused on broadening student opportunities and experiences across the Arts
